Testimonials

At age seven, Michael Britt-Leon was fortunate enough to embark on his greatest passion which has earned him countless International, National and Zone championships as well as lead him to the thriving show barn he runs today. His instant bond with horses paired with his sheer love and dedication for the sport had him immediately climbing to the top.

Michael spent his junior career under the guidance of the top professionals on the west coast who had him showing extensively in hunters, jumpers and equitation. At age sixteen the volume of catch riding made it clear that going professional was his only choice. He was offered a position at “The Oaks Farm”, one of the largest breeding and show barns at the time riding for Joan Irvine Smith. Michael was soon starting and developing quality young horses, transforming them into world class nationally ranked Hunters and Jumpers. His amazing talent did not go unnoticed, and he was eventually recruited to ride privately for a family and develop their personal stock. It was there that he ran their facility and campaigned their horses nationally, solidifying his place on the professional circuit.

Wanting to expand, Michael established Windsor Stables in 2002. The primary focus of the business was to create top riders from the Short Stirrup and Pony divisions up to the Junior/Amateur Owner Hunters and Jumpers while building confidence and keeping a fun environment.

In 2017, Michael wanting to be closer to family, relocated to Alpharetta, GA. Since then, he has grown the business to not only include some of the top horses, juniors and amateur riders on the east coast but also start a riding academy similar to the one to the one that got him his start. He believes that true horsemanship starts on the ground with proper horse care and always putting our animals’ care first. While Michael can be found now dominating the east coast show circuit, it’s not uncommon to see him playing with his horses in the fields or spending time in the barn making sure his staff has completed the best care possible. His love and passion for teaching is evident in all his students’ many accomplishments. Michael believes that any goal can be achieved with hard work, patience, and a positive attitude.

Sarah Spencer is our newest addition to Windsor Stables. She grew up in Alexander City, Alabama, and knew at a young age that she was going to be an equestrian. From her first rescue pony to her meter thirty jumpers, she has ridden through the ranks with much success. As a professional, Sarah has developed her career by working for high-level trainers and programs traveling across the US and Europe. Her experience includes training horses and riders and managing barns. She will be an integral part of our National Competition Team in Alpharetta and the Head Trainer for the Windsor Stables IEA team.

With over 17 years of Equine experience and an Associate Degree from the College of Central Florida in Equine Business Management with a concentration in Equine Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, Chelsea is no stranger to the industry, and has always taken great care in the treatment of our equine partners.

Growing up in Wellington and Ocala Florida she rode AQHA and 4H, and has shown all throughout the Southeast, including multiple AQHA World qualifiers and Congress Top 5 placings and multiple wins at the Area, State, and Regional level.

After graduating college she spent several years on the road working and competing on the A Circuit, with wins at HITS, Tryon, and WEF in both the Jumpers and Hunters. Throughout those years she became a kind, understanding, and positive instructor and enjoys pushing her students to be their very best no matter what. She excels in teaching from beginners who have just set foot in the stirrup all the way through top level riders.

Kathy has been riding since she was 8 years old. While she took a break to raise her family, she started back to riding and now competes in hunters.

She takes her love of working with people to help Michael support the team and clients at Windsor Stables. Always fun and excited about helping adults and children to enjoy horses while reaching their goals.
